Arijit Roy has the quiet confidence of a management student backed by solid experience of the corporate world. This confidence springs from the fact that he has worked with two of the biggest private banks in India \u2013 HDFC and ICICI \u2013 and is currently doing his post graduation in Management from one of the most futuristic and digitally empowered B-schools in the country. When you ask him where he sees himself two years from now, pat comes the reply, \u201cA manager at Nomura Investment Banking Company\u201d.
\nBorn in Hazari bagh (Jharkhand), Arijit studied in St. Xavier\u2019s School till intermediate, before opting to do his BBA from ICFAI University, Hyderabad. He then went back to his home-town Kolkata, working initially for ICICI Bank as Senior Officer, Customer Service Branch Banking (CSBB). On being offered the position of Deputy Manager, CSBB by HDFC Bank in Delhi, Arijit made the shift. Through all these changes, upgrading his BBA to a PGDM stayed at the back of his mind.
\n\u201cWhat nailed it for me was the fantastic infrastructure and the great brand name of Jaipuria Institute of Management. I knew that Jaipuria Indore would provide a boost to my career.\u201d
\nArijit Roy says that he will remember his First Year at Jaipuria, Indore, for four major reasons \u2013 terrific classroom environment, faculty help, freshers\u2019 week and celebrating birthdays in the hostel!
\n\u201cBarely halfway through my post graduation in Management at Jaipuria Indore, I\u2019ve already participated in mega-events like Encore, Big Data, Marketing Wizard and Social Media Conclave held within the college campus. Also, as the IT coordinator, I\u2019ve had the opportunity to conduct various quizzes and competitions. Of course, Encore was special since I was the Head IT coordinator for this event.\u201d
\nArijit\u2019s family is located in Kolkata. While his father works with the Bank of India, he has an elder brother who is the HR manager at PwC. Like many Bengalis, Arijit has a creative streak, especially when it comes to making sketches.
\n\u201cAll my life, I\u2019ve been curious and wanted to explore new things. I\u2019ve made it a point to learn from past mistakes in life. I\u2019ve carried this attitude with me to Jaipuria, and so far the journey has been great. One of the big pluses here is that faculty members don\u2019t just help you understand what you are supposed to do, but also educate you on what you are good at.
