Everything that has happened here has taught me something and given me millions of memories to cherish for a lifetime,\u201d says Upasana Manglunia, Jaipuria Jaipur (Class of 2015-17)<\/p>\n<p>Upasana Manglunia, who comes from Guwahati, Assam, graduated from the KC Das Commerce College, did a one-year diploma in Interior Designing from NIID (National Institute of Interior Designing), as well as an internship of six months with a firm, before she followed her dream of doing an MBA. \u201cBeing from a business family I always wanted to do an MBA and after a long search and several hours spent talking to people, a family friend suggested Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur,\u201d she says. <\/p>\n<p>The Institute\u2019s 100 per cent placement record and the feedback she received from her seniors about the college appealed to Manglunia and before she knew it her Jaipuria, Jaipur journey had begun!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been a euphoric experience,\u201d she says adding, \u201cIt began with an induction where I participated in various activities. We enacted a play on eve-teasing and the girls in the team played the roles of boys and vice versa. Our team was appreciated for the uniqueness of the play.\u201d Manglunia took part in other team events like cricket. She participated in a presentation and represented her home city, Guwahati. At the end of this period, she was \u201cappreciated for her language and photography skills and won the best \u2018selfie\u2019 award thereby being awarded the epithet of \u2018Selfie Queen\u2019 of Jaipuria, Jaipur.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Talking about her experience at Jaipuria, Jaipur the young lady says, \u201cThroughout the three semesters, I maintained my position in the top 10 students which was a proud moment for me. Life here has made me a better person in all aspects: it has improved my confidence and my presentation skills; it has taught me how to use my strengths and overcome my weaknesses. It has also helped me learn and gain knowledge from various corporate heads and build networks.\u201d Elaborating on the learning experience the young lady explains, \u201cIn order to get knowledge of the market and first-hand experience we were sent to Lifestyle for a four-day \u2018live\u2019 project. Here we learnt how to communicate with customers and also learnt about the market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Life at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur is however not all about academics. As Manglunia explains, \u201cJaipuria has given me many opportunities to showcase my talent on campus and outside. I learntkarate and got a yellow belt in it. I visited the Lucknow Campus to participate in their annual fest, OJAS where I won the first prize in the online game, Hey Day and during E-Week, my team won the first prize in the wall painting competition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The young lady credits the faculty for their hugely supportive role and the direction they give students. \u201cThe teaching faculty at Jaipuria, Jaipur has played an important role in my growth. They have always been there to help and guide me,\u201d she says. \u201cAll the teachers at Jaipuria, Jaipur have been a source of constant guidance and motivation. I hope I can make them proud,\u201d she adds. Says Dr. Nidhi Vashishth, \u201cUpasana is a very promising student and is shaping up as a true professional. She possesses integrity, ambition and has what it takes to become successful. I have full faith in her abilities and hope she carves a successful trail for herself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With majors in Human Resources and Marketing, this young woman is doing her summer internship with Mahindra Finance in the HR Department, where her role includes assessing the performance appraisal system of the organisation, its effectiveness and also its implementation and process. This experience she says has helped her increase her domain knowledge and also, \u201cget hands-on knowledge from professionals in the corporate world.\u201d Manglunia says that she has learnt to use \u201cmy potential to the fullest and gain the most out of this internship so that I can fulfil my dream of being the Head of Human Resources in a well reputed company in the course of the next seven to eight years. My strengths of taking initiative, quick learning, time management and pro-activeness will help me get the job I want.\u201d<br \/>\nThis lively Virgo who is the SPOC of the Media Relations Club, says she has learnt a lot from this activity. She has \u201ccovered the events and happenings in the college and also interviewed various corporate professionals.\u201d She also visited the Noida Campus for the SPOC Meet. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cJaipuria, Jaipur always has a very lively and energetic ambience and so does everyone in it. One of the things I am really grateful to the Institute for is for the friends it has given me,\u201d says Manglunia. Says friend Akshat Jhalani, \u201cUpasana isa very helpfulperson. I have learnt a lot from her. In her spare time she listens to music, plays carom, gets busy on her laptop and also finds time to take lots and lots of \u2018selfies\u2019!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Apart from music this young lady says she loves\u201ctravelling,visiting new places, reading, watching movies, swimming, playing badminton and lot more.\u201d Coming to Jaipuria, Jaipur she adds \u201chas been a life-changing experience for me.
