\u201cAn MBA is almost a pre-requisite today,\u201d says the Moradabad girl, Akanksha Gupta, alumnus of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida (Batch \u2013 2014-2016). \u201cHaving decided that this would be the best platform for better job opportunities, I zeroed in on Jaipuria, Noida,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n
Having done her graduation from Delhi University in B.Com (Hons), Gupta sat for the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) in which she scored very well. \u201cWith a good score in MAT I was able to choose Jaipuria, Noida over other colleges. But it was a big decision for me and my family as it meant a large investment of money,\u201d she explains. However, as Gupta recalls, her decision paid off, \u201cJaipuria, Nodia experience helped me change for the better. Regular presentations and public speaking helped me gain confidence and the innumerable projects helped me boost my market knowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I came to this Institute, I wanted to gain corporate exposure and learn skills that would help me survive in the corporate world,\u201d explains Gupta but as she adds, \u201cLife at Jaipuria was not only about theories and studies. I made some wonderful friends; took part in the annual festival, Udaan 2014; coordinated with various committees; was an active member of the Placement Committee and was taught by extremely good and helpful faculty.\u201d<\/p>\n
Talking about her summer internship programme, the young lady says that she did it off campus from Dentsply India Pvt.Ltd., where she worked on a \u2018live\u2019 project: \u201cA study of consumer perception and Business Opportunities for Ecommerce in Dentistry in India.\u201d This, she says helped her build her confidence levels for the final placement process. <\/p>\n
Today, as Business Analyst with Cognitio Analytics LLC, Gupta looks back at her interview experience with a hint of pride. \u201cIt was a good interview,\u201d she recalls. \u201cIt went for 45 minutes. It was really exhaustive but I never lost my confidence and presence of mind which I think proved to be the turning point for me.\u201d<\/p>\n
And her advice to the current batch in preparing for interviews? \u201cBuild your confidence and get rid of your public speaking fear.
