A belief in the holistic development of students makes Jaipuria Institute of Management (Jaipuria, Noida) a B-School with a difference. And, this is the reason behind Udaan. \u201cIt is a unique blend of three activities. The first is management with its quiz, business plan, etc. The second is cultural activities where we have dance, song and a fashion show. The third is Muskaan, our CSR initiative. This year, we had fifty five underprivileged children come to Jaipuria. Our students entertained them, they watched a movie, performed skits, etc.,\u201d said Dr. Deepak Singh, Associate Professor, Marketing and Strategy, who was also the faculty in-charge for the event. The day continued with cake cutting, distribution of snacks and a whole lot of fun activities, including prizes for the most accomplished among the fifty five. The day ended with the children taking home gifts of cash, clothes and other goodies.
\nMuskaan was conducted with contributions from students, faculty and corporate houses.
\nBoth GAIL India and Morpheous Group are constant corporate supporters of Jaipuria Noida, Udaan.
\nThis year, JAIPURIA NOIDA has brought in a cash sponsorship of Rs. 30,000 from IIM Bangalore. It was to encourage entrepreneurial activities and business plans among MBA students. Winners of the Genesis Business Idea Generation were students from Jaipuria Noida. They happily took home the grand cash prize.
\nPan Galactic saw the \u2018woman empowerment\u2019 theme winning the contest. When treated right, this theme is always a winner. Right now, the Indian woman and her empowerment is highly in focus.
\nOther shows that brought out the creativity of participants were events like Face Painting, the Ad Mad Show. In fact, the Radio Jockeys had all of Jaipuria Noida, dancing to their tunes.
\nThe biggest surprise came during Poor Picasso. Students literally let their paint brushes take over and painted Jaipuria Noida, in all colours of the rainbow. \u201cWe never imagined our Management students could paint so well,\u201d Dr. Deepak Singh says, the smile in his voice and the shake of his head add surprised disbelief to his words.
\nMr Manmohan Wilcoo a management consultant at IBM and a member of the prestigious Toastmasters International Club said that preparation was the key to the success of any event.
\nDr.Suchi Priya, heading HR andOB(also faculty in-charge for the event), says, \u201cWe have organized Udaan as a learning platform for our students. Through Udaan, they interact with students from different colleges, enhance their networking skills and understand event management.\u201d It is their flight into the future.
\nIt was noticed, in previous years, that cultural shows were a huge hit. \u201cSo this year, we decided to have it on both days,\u201d says Dr. Singh.
