On February 3rd, 2024, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, successfully concluded the last day of a six-day AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) sponsored Faculty Development Program (FDP) on `Fundamentals of Operations Research.` The FDP was coordinated by Dr. Richa Srivastava (Assistant Professor, Operations and Decision Sciences, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow) and Prof. Amit Trivedi (Associate Professor, Business Analytics, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow), under the guidance of Prof. Kavita Pathak (Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow).
The first half of the day was fully dedicated to the topic ‘Vehicle Routing Problem’. The session was taken by Dr. Gourav Dwivedi, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Delhi. practical/Hands-on sessions were also conducted to formulate and optimize different vehicle routing cases.
These lab sessions were followed by a reflection journal submission by the participants. An exam based on the learning of this FDP was also conducted for the successful completion of the program. The program was concluded with a Valedictory Session where participants shared their experience and learnings from this six-day FDP. Lastly, coordinators of the FDP proposed a vote of thanks.

In the first half of Day-5, an industrial visit was organized as part of FDP at Lulu, Hypermarket, Lucknow. The objective of this visit was to understand operations and inventory planning. Industry Connect was led by Mr. Noman Aziz Khan, General Manager, Retail Lulu hypermarket, Lucknow. This visit served as a perfect convergence point between academia and practical experience, providing participants with first-hand exposure to operational dynamics in a real-world setting.
The second half of the session was led by Prof. Yogesh Agrawal (Retd., Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow), who continued the topic of graph theory-based optimizations followed by an insightful practical session on the topic ‘Spanning Tree’. This combination of theoretical exploration and hands-on learning enriched the participants` understanding of Graph Theory applications, providing valuable insights into optimization strategies, particularly in the context of Spanning Trees.

On February 2nd, 2024, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, successfully concluded Day-5 of the esteemed six-day AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) sponsored Faculty Development Program (FDP) on `Fundamentals of Operations Research.` The FDP was conducted by Dr. Richa Srivastava (Assistant Professor, Operations and Decision Sciences, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow) and Prof. Amit Trivedi (Associate Professor, Business Analytics, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow), under the guidance of Prof. Kavita Pathak (Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow).
In the first half of Day-5, an industrial visit was organized as part of FDP at Lulu, Hypermarket, Lucknow. The objective of this visit was to understand operations and inventory planning. Industry Connect was led by Mr. Noman Aziz Khan, General Manager, Retail Lulu hypermarket, Lucknow. This visit served as a perfect convergence point between academia and practical experience, providing participants with first-hand exposure to operational dynamics in a real-world setting.
The second half of the session was led by Prof. Yogesh Agrawal (Retd., Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow), who continued the topic of graph theory-based optimizations followed by an insightful practical session on the topic ‘Spanning Tree’. This combination of theoretical exploration and hands-on learning enriched the participants` understanding of Graph Theory applications, providing valuable insights into optimization strategies, particularly in the context of Spanning Trees.
