Jaipuria Institute Of Management’s Udaan – A Flight Into Undiscovered Horizons

Students from across the nation are gearing up for the event of the year: Jaipuria Institute of Management’s fabulous Udaan. On 25 and 26 November. From morning until evening, cash prizes wait to be won.

The plans are made and the preparations are in full swing for this is Jaipuria Institute of Management’s biggest event of the year. These two days is a time when management techniques and leadership skills are called upon. Stress? Sure. But adrenaline highs are ensured.

No need to register in advance. On-the-spot registrations are in the scheme of things. Any number of teams from any number of colleges can participate. No restrictions. Each team will pay a reasonable participation fee and be ready to move it, groove it, and win it.

A glimpse of what will be the scene on Day 1 of Udaan 2011:

Jigsawmania: like the name suggests this is going to be a Managerial jigsaw with a difference. Off the beaten jigsaw track. In Round 1 participating teams of two members, each will be given a jigsaw. But with a twist. Some of the pieces will be mixed up with ones belonging to other teams. The teams that win this round will qualify for the next one: a buzzer quiz round. Winners will win exciting cash prizes.

Genesis: is all about ideas that can change lives. So let the innovative thinker in your surface. Take charge of it and make it happen. Because the Next BIG idea can take home the first grand prize of Rs. 30,000! It comes from a sponsor – IIM Bangalore.

Singing can be beautiful for the ears. Symphony lets competitors show off the melodies in their voices.

Can any Management event be complete without showcasing brands?? Never, never, never. Blitzkrieg is Udaan’s brand show.

Some love to be heard and not seen. They like making waves in the air and playing other people’s songs. It is an art form that needs perfecting the gift of the gab. So gabbing their way to success can be a change in the career course. Radio Mania is just the competition for aspiring RJs. Let the beat groove you on.

Debates get passionate, they get angry arguments to defy all reason. And the winner truly deserves the prize. It is a battle of wits and words at Crossword.

Painting, anybody? This one’s easy because it is on T-shirts and is called Poor Picasso. Have fun, let the paint out of the tube, use your brushes, fingers, cotton buds, make the imperfect picture if you like – Picasso style.

Events on Day 2 of Udan 2011 have:

Cataclysm: may the best gamer win. Cataclysm is all about gaming the management way. It’s on the computer and is absolutely charged with the speed of lightning.

Pan Galactic is a CSR initiative and is a short film-making contest.

Kolam: India is a land where colors are used everywhere. Including artistic designs on the floor. Whether it is with a stark white powdered rice used traditionally in the south and called Kolam or made using the colors of the rainbow and called Rangoli.

Yes, there’s lots of fun lined up and lots of intellectual stimulation too. Be there. Do that. May the fastest and the best team win.

Punarsangam: Jaipuria Institute Of Management’s First Ever Alumni Meet

Excitement fills the air surrounding Jaipuria Institute of Management. For the first time since its inception, Jaipuria Institute of Management is holding Punarsangam – meeting of the past – for their alumni from all their institutes in Noida, Jaipur, Lucknow and Indore. This celebration of past meetings, memories and learnings will be held on 10 December, 2011 at the Noida campus.
The moment the Punarsangam message was out, confirmations poured in. Over 120 enthusiastic managers and entrepreneurs – all successful alumni have already confirmed participation.
Their busy work schedules are rewarding, no doubt. But meeting up with batch mates and friends on a campus where they shared precious moments is special. It is a feeling that cannot be exchanged for anything.
The large scale celebrations at Jaipuria Institute of Management’s Punarsangam are planned with deep attention to detail and a lot of caring concentration.
Starting off with the registration between 5 – 6 pm, Punarsangam will flow into interactions. At 7.30 pm the cultural event will begin.
Entertainment includes a live band called Lafz-e-Delhi, a skit by the Club of Jaipuria, Noida, and a very special performance by Sneha and Bytris, both degree holders in classical dancing and students of Jaipuria Institute of Management. The entertainment will precede dinner at 9 pm.
Punarsangam does not end with the scrumptious dinner. It is the beginning of new relationships and networks that will be created on Jaipuria Institute of Management’s Noida campus. “It will be exciting to meet up with my classmates after all these years. Time really flies. When we meet at Jaipuria Institute of Management, our alma mater, the meeting will be doubly sweet. The catching up that much more interesting,” says an alumnus who promises to be there.

Jaipuria Institute Of Management, Noida, Says No To Plastic!

Headed by Faculty coordinator Poonam Sharma, Jaipuria is launching its campaign to ban the baddie – plastic – from planet earth. “We want our children to inherit a better earth, a pollution free environment so they remain aware and stay healthy,” she says. “Plastic has invaded our lives. We have begun using it everywhere, indiscriminately. Plastic is the main culprit for global warming. It has endangered life itself.”
Jaipuria Noida’s message is very simple. “Say NO to the use of plastic bags.” It drives home the fact effectively. Plastic choking the very life out of our planet.
Combating this, Jaipuria is taking small steps towards the greater environment cleaning goal. “The plastic habit is so deeply engraved in our psyche,” says Abhishek Pramanik, “that we have to do something really drastic to drive the message home.”
The students of Jaipuria are starting off the No Plastic drive by holding a bag making competition. Bags are the crux of the whole plastic bag invasion because of their convenience. Rarely do people remember to carry bags for their shopping from home. Result? More earth choking plastic. “Today shops charge for the bags, but people don’t mind paying that bit extra to bring their bulky shopping home. We need to do something to help them remember to take their shopping bags along whenever they go out. This is the main reason we are holding a bag making competition,” Abhishek says. Maybe someone could develop an app for mobiles that would be like an alarm so people can remember to carry their own bags? “Or maybe the attractive bags could be hung neatly somewhere near the door?” He asks.
“This bag making competition will be held on 16 December, and is open to all other schools who would like to join in,” Poonam Sharma says.
