Panav Chadha is about to complete his first year in Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur. Born and brought up in Jaipur, Panav did his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from JNIT, before pursuing a PG in Business Management from Jaipuria Jaipur. Panav comes across as a sincere, sober, and studious young man. But initiate any topic regarding automobiles, and his eyes light up! He would love to join an automobile company some day.
“I am completely passionate about automobiles. If I see a new automobile in the market, I have to test-drive it. Beyond the classroom hours of Jaipuria, you will find me going through automobile magazines, blogs or forums. As soon as there is a new launch of any kind of automobile, I have to do a detailed analysis and comparison with its rivals in the segment.”
Over the last nine months, Panav has played an active role in many extra-curricular activities, such as Rocket Singh (Marketing event), an inter-college sports meet at the national level and, of course, the famed annual fest of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Abhyudaya. All this exposure has helped him grow in confidence and given him immense clarity about his future.
“On passing out of Jaipuria Jaipur, I would like to take on a role equivalent to a deputy manager in a growing company. I’m not really concerned about the size or brand of the company that I join. If it’s a small company, I will grow faster in terms of knowledge and skills, and build relationships more quickly.”
Panav’s selection of B-school was based on solid facts. He did not want to change his location, and yet wanted to go to the best management institute.
“Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur is the best B-school in Rajasthan. It conforms to global standards of business schools in terms of infrastructure and faculty. Most of the faculty members come from an industry background. They are able to explain even complex topics very simply. So with an excellent management college like Jaipuria Institute of Management in my hometown, there was no need to go elsewhere.”
Panav believes that rapid economic and social changes are here to stay and managers will have to adapt to this new reality, while maintaining efficiency. Because of his non-stop study of automobiles through various foreign magazines, websites and blogs, he has realised how knowledge of different work cultures across the globe are used to build business strategies.
“I am looking to do a specialisation in Marketing during my 2nd Year at Jaipuria Institute of Management, along with acquiring knowledge of the BFSI sector (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance). I especially enjoy Dr. Swati Soni’s classes. Her way of teaching is very engaging, with a lot of practical and real life examples. It helps us understand concepts quickly and easily.”
Five years down the line, Panav sees himself as a Marketing Manager or Regional Head in a top automobile company. He is confident that Jaipuria Institute of Management will help him achieve this target.
