Jaipuria Jaipur celebrates its 6th Annual Convocation with traditional gaeity. Mr. Paras Kuhad, Additional Solicitor General, Supreme Court of India is the Chief Guest

On the 18th of May 2013, students of the 6th Batch of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur, passed out of their alma mater to take their place in the corporate world. The convocation ceremony is the most awaited day for any management student, but the inspiring presence of the Addl. Solicitor General of the Supreme Court of India, Mr. Paras Kuhad, made the 6th Annual Convocation of Jaipuria Jaipur even more special.

“Learning is a continuous process,” Mr. Kuhadreminded the students, while congratulating them on having earned their spurs in the world of management. Remember to enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realise that those were really the big things. I believe life is in the details. Simple pleasures throughout the day can be far more gratifying than one amazing weekend. When you connect the dots between all these little joys, life seems fuller and more satisfying.”

26 students of the PGDM batch of 2011-13 were awarded their diplomas. The girls outdid the boys when it came to getting top honours, bagging 5 of the 6 major awards. Anusha Bansal was the outstanding student of the year, receiving the Chairman’s Gold Medal from Mr. Kuhad, as well as the trophies for being best in Finance Management and Marketing Management. Ritesh Sharma was the only male management graduate among the toppers, winning the Vice-Chairperson’s Silver Medal. The other female outstanding achiever for the 6th Batch was Sneha Jaiswal, who won the Director’s Bronze Medal, as well as the trophy for being best in Human Resource Management.

“We need corporations and managers who adhere to the triumvirate of Indian values: SATYAM (Truth), which is the ethical component of business; SHIVAM (Welfare),  which should be the economic objective of business; SUNDARAM (Beauty),  which should be an aesthetic outlook for business: aesthetics here does not imply physical beauty but purity of ideas and morality in behaviour,” said Mr. Sharad Jaipuria, Chairman of Jaipuria Institutes of Management. He further said that these were the very values imparted to young management students at Jaipuria Jaipur. “In the ultimate analysis, what matters is that truth prevails in the end. Do not forget that the noble values of caring, sharing, service and sacrifice have kept our society away from the dangers of extinction and made it energetic at all times.”

Dr. Prabhat Pankaj, Director, Jaipuria Jaipur presented the Jaipuria Jaipur’s progress report.Outlining the growth trajectory – in terms of the institute’s improved rating, ranking and placements, expanded infrastructure and intellectual capital, research contributions, executive development and other significant academic milestones – Dr. Pankaj advised the students to be good brand ambassadors of their alma mater.

As the dignified gathering marched out after declaring the Convocation Ceremony closed, students of the passing out batch elatedly threw up their ‘graduates’ hats’ in the air and hugged each other joyously, rushing to meet proud parents and family members who were in attendance. Promises of ‘we’ll keep in touch!’ were shouted out and soon faculty members joined in the celebrations as well, reminding the young managers that Jaipuria Institute of Management would always be a homeawayfromhome to them.
