Industry Visit – Report From Ground Zero (Kagzi Industry)

Priyamvada Shanker   I JAIPURIA JAIPUR  I  PGDM 2013-15

In the scorching heat of the plightful summer we were in the bus on our way for the very first industrial visit by our batch. All the chit chat about being professional and the wayward thought were lost the moment we entered the realm of Kagzi Industry. The slight hum of workers, the sound of water mixing cotton balls, the buzz of machines, the vibrant spreads and shreads of papers. Clips hanging above drying sheets of hand crafted papers beyond the reach of our hands enthralled our eyes with the sheer beauty of colours. We experienced the delight of being in presence of workers who answered our doubts and queries. The excellent craftsmanship creativity are worthy of praise. The industry comprises around 300 workers and their diligence and dedication towards work can be truly noted. Established in 1996 Kagzi is an ISO approved industry with a turn over around 5 to 25 crores. It’s a decade old industry with export connection in Australia and Europe, setting on outstanding example of how even a small idea when approached with confidence can make a huge difference.
