The ISB-Ivey Global Case Competition 2016 award made home to Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida

It was just yesterday that Dr. Jones Mathew, Professor, Marketing and Dr. Banasree Dey, Assistant Professor, Area Chair, Marketing of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida were preparing for submitting their case studies for the ISB-Ivey Global Case Competition 2016. The award is home, already!

“Our case that won the award “The Vanca: Reworking Digital Marketing Strategy” discusses the challenges faced by The Vanca – an online women’s apparel brand. After overcoming initial problems typical of entrepreneurial startups, the brand made significant progress in terms of sales. However, the concerted digital marketing efforts under the leadership of the CEO Mr. Rajeev Sinha did not bring in the expected results. In May, 2016 Sinha hired a Digital Marketing Manager with the goal of re-strategizing the brand’s digital approach. Our case intended to provide understanding of an internet brand facing the challenges of its digital marketing efforts not working as expected and offers a look at the dynamic nature of the online retailing space,” elaborates the two writers of the Case Study.

Needless to say, winning the award has been a significant achievement for the institute and the faculty. The ISB-Ivey Global Case Competition is an annual event hosted by the Centre for Learning and Management Practice at ISB in partnership with the Richard Ivey School of Business (Ivey), University of Western Ontario, Canada commands a lot of respect in the world of Management for its noble objective toward contributing to the world of Management.

The ISB-Ivey Case Competition was launched in 2010 at the national level with the aim of promoting the development of high quality, internationally benchmarked, India-specific business cases. At present, the competition has been opened to international academics, faculty, and doctoral students. The ISB-Ivey Global Case Competition is supported by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS). The top cases from the competition are exclusively mentored and developed by the ISB-Ivey team of mentors, and published as ISB-Ivey cases. These cases are marketed to a global audience of business schools through Ivey and distributed through Ivey and Harvard Publishing (Harvard University, USA)*.

The winning case receives an award of US$ 2,000 and a certificate from ISB and Ivey Business School. In addition, “our case will be published by Ivey Publishing as an ISB-Ivey co-branded case study and an abstract of our case will be published on the homepage of the Centre for Learning and Management Practice (CLMP), ISB,” says Dr. Mathew and Dr. Dey enthusiastically.
