‘You are at a client’s place and he is the last customer that can help you achieve your sales target. You only need Rs. 50000 to achieve your target and the product price is Rs 40000. You can increase the product’s price and sell but the customer is poor. What will you do?’ that was one of the trickiest questions Raksha Gupta faced during her final placement interview with Lido Learning. Thankfully, the Jaipuria Institutue of Management, Indore student had picked Human Resources and Marketing as her specializations. Balancing the human side with the market compulsions was a cakewalk.
The cake in this case was Raksha’s placement with the ed-tech company that has revolutionized classroom education through immersive, online learning experience. The cherry on the cake is that she starts her career as a Business Development Associate at a handsome package of INR 10 LPA. Talking about another important stage of the placement process where she made her mark she says, “My Group Discussion topic was Marketing or Customer satisfaction. What is more important? Again my knowledge of human behavior as well as Marketing came handy.”
“I was very clear about my opinions and kept adding facts to them. At the same time I was listening to others’ points of views too, which is very important,” she explains her modus operandi.
Now that Raksha has got the dream start for her career, she is gearing up to prove herself as a professional. According to her, the guest sessions, classroom discussions, faculty support, and training sessions helped her become the better version of herself. It’s this version, ready for industry 4.0 that she plans to take into her professional role. “I will be required to increase the consumer base of the company. It’s something I have learned in my Sales and Marketing classes and in the live projects at Jaipuria Indore. My understanding of human behavior should help me build connections with customers,” she says with the acumen of a sound professional already.
