PREPARATION FOR DATA INTERPRETATION AND LOGICAL REASONING (DILR)

The preparation strategy for DILR however, is a little different from what we do in VARC and QA.

The questions in the actual exam in the past few years have been hardly direct, requiring the students to apply multiple concepts and interpretations to be able to solve the question sets correctly.

To master this section, there is only one solution and only one strategy- PRACTICE.

CAT Examination has not followed any set pattern like VARC or QA in DILR in terms of the composition and break-up of the questions on the basis of the topics included.

The section will carry 4 Sets with 4 to 6 Questions for each set.

It is suggestable that we thoroughly complete the basics of each topic covered under the DILR Umbrella in the span of 2 Months. Post which, we start taking Section Wise tests in both the Intermediate stage and Advanced phase of preparation moving on to Topic-Wise and Section-Wise Mock Tests with gradually increasing difficulty levels.

Again, testing is important, but so is the analysis of each and every test, laying focus on the incorrect questions and unattempt questions.

Post the completion of the Basic Phase, the Intermediate and Advanced phase needs to be followed religiously till the day before your Actual Exam.
