Dr. Swati Soni is an Associate Professor in the area of Marketing. Her areas of teaching interest include Brand Management and Service Marketing. Dr. Soni is a graduate from Sophia Girls College Ajmer, a Post Graduate in Management from Jai Narain Vyas University, Jodhpur, and a Ph. D. from Poddar Institute of Management, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.

She carries with her around 18 years of experience in academics and has handled various academic administrative positions with a lot of conscientiousness. Her past assignments include prestigious institutions of the genre of Prestige Institute of Management, Mody University, IILM-AHL Jaipur.

Dr. Soni is an avid reader, researcher, and a passionate faculty and trainer.

My life has been shaped by illustrious teachers, most importantly my mother, a Professor of Economics. I am passionate about teaching. I feel teaching is in my blood - both my mother and father had been celebrated Professors in Economics and English respectively. For me, teaching is much more than a profession. It’s akin to my DIGNITY. Any given day, if I feel I haven’t done a fair job, I feel I have compromised with my dignity.

My style of teaching is anecdotal. I bring stories and experiences to my class as I feel nothing connects like stories. I am aspirational and conscientious about being prepared and updated about my session. When I prepare for the session, I begin with the spirit that it’s the first session of my life and I begin from a scratch in terms of preparation. I keep on reading till the eleventh hour so that I can add more content to my lecture. When it comes to class delivery, I deliver every session as being the last lecture of my life. I feel an adrenaline rush in class. I elude energy and zest in the 75 minutes and try to leave an everlasting impact on my students.

I am an intermittent psychologist in class. I say this because I often change hats between being a marketing faculty and being a psychologist .I gauge the feelings and responses of my students well and connect with them. I am a strong advocate of respect and empathy for students, for it’s the easiest and most important thing to provide them. My connect with my kids makes me a better teacher and a better person.

I wish to be remembered by my students as someone who made them ready for a ‘thing called life’!
