When one knows how, it is possible to overcome the toughest challenges. Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore ensures that the students know how to face the selection process of the summer internship projects and bag the most prestigious ones. Anurag Srivastava is specialising in Finance from Jaipuria Indore and he did his SIP with DLF Pramerica Life Insurance Co. He went through the standard placement process – a presentation by the student, followed by a group discussion and then a personal interview. Facing the interview panel was learning and a challenge, but Anurag did well and was selected. He shares, “Prior to the SIP interview, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore conducted several pre-SIP sessions to groom us to the level where it was possible to crack the interview process of a well-known company. These pre-SIP sessions boosted my knowledge level and also gave me a sense of the interpersonal skills that are required in an organisation.”
Anurag received a full-fledged training of 90 hours in Personal Finance, which he believes was his most important learning during the SIP. As he says, “With the awareness of personal finance I can make my own portfolio so that the money earned can be maximised further for future plans.”
Anurag has always had an inclination towards finance. He belongs to Kanpur city and did his graduation with mathematics as his core subject from DAV College, Kanpur. He loves playing chess, cricket and counter-strike games, and is an avid reader of motivational stories.
Moving away from home for studies brought with it the challenges that every young adult faces. He credits his faculty for his success in managing the challenges of the SIP. Their availability and support carried him through the toughest periods of training. He is also all praise for the learning environment provided by Jaipuria Indore when he says, “Peer learning is a large part of Jaipuria Indore, especially for students living in the hostel. We always worked together towards tackling an academic task such as a project, solving case studies, working on a business plan and much more. All this required us to have a quality-oriented approach towards management, and that was possible for me because of the faculty’s constant efforts. They made me realise my leadership potential.”
Jaipuria Indore also provided him with overall development opportunities like the ‘National Business Olympiad’ and ‘Jaipuria’s Got Talent’. “Life at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore is exactly what I expected before joining the institute. I wanted to study in a peaceful, youthful ambience and I got everything I asked for,” concludes a well-satisfied Anurag.
