17th Convocation at Jaipuria Lucknow

Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, held its 17th Annual Convocation on May 23rd, 2013. Shri S. S. Mundra, Chairman and Managing Director of Bank of Baroda, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Chairman – ShriSharadJaipuria, Vice Chairman – Shri Shreevats Jaipuria, Director General – Dr. Pankaj Gupta, Director of the Institute – Prof. S. R. Musanna, the members of the Board of Governors and the Academic Council of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, were all present for the ceremony.
Shri Shreevats Jaipuria, in his welcome address, said that Jaipuria’s ethos was built around the ‘student’, the individual who yearns for knowledge. He advised the young professionals to understand the multiple challenges and opportunities ahead of them in the emerging scenario, and work accordingly to make a mark of success for the organisations they work with.
In his address, Chief Guest Shri S. S. Mundra expressed joy at being a part of the convocation ceremony. Wishing the young graduates luck on their journey into the corporate echelons, he advised them to follow their own vision. He shared that the new leadership mantra was “Survival of the most flexible – mentally, physically and emotionally”.
Dr. Pankaj Gupta, Director General, Jaipuria Institute of Management, advised the students to choose their careers on the basis of their ‘ruchi’, ‘yogyata’ and ‘vishwas’ to achieve excellence in life. He highlighted the role of vision, passion, ownership and dedication in making a successful career. He urged the students to continuously build their KASH (Knowledge, Attitude, Skills and Habits) balance every day, which would eventually pay them rich dividends.
Prof. (Dr.) S. R. Musanna, Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, presented the progress report of the institute and highlighted the milestones achieved by Jaipuria Lucknow during the academic year 2012-2013. Talking to the students, he said that success may be the collective goal of many, but the individual himself is the true judge of what success means to him.
Shri Shreevats Jaipuria, Vice Chairman, Jaipuria Institute of Management delivered the vote of thanks. He advised the students to treat their workplace as ‘an extension of their personality’, to ask ‘the extra questions’ to develop a good understanding of matters, and to put in ‘the extra hours’ to do their work with perfection.
268 students successfully completed various programmes at the institute this year. Shri Sharad Jaipuria, Chairman and member of the Board of Governors of the Institute, handed the diplomas to successful candidates. The Convocation souvenir was also released on this occasion.
The Chief Guest, Shri S.S. Mundra, awarded the meritorious students with scholastic medals for outstanding performances. A trophy in recognition of exceptional scholastic performance was presented to Bhagwati Prasad Gupta. From the full-time PGDM Programme group, he was also awarded the Chairman’s Gold Medal; Juhi Gupta was awarded the Vice Chairperson’s Silver Medal and Nikhil Singh was awarded the Director’s Bronze Medal. BhoomikaAgrawal was awarded the Chairman’s Gold Medal and Vaibhav Jain was awarded the Vice Chairperson’s Silver Medal from the full-time PGDM (Financial Services) Programme. NitinTiwari was awarded the Chairman’s Gold Medal from the full-time PGDM (Retail Management) Programme. IshaSrivastava was awarded the Chairman’s Gold Medal from the part-time PGDM Programme. Certificates of Merit across all full-time PGDM programmes in the areas of Marketing, Finance and Human Resources were conferred on Bhagwati Prasad Gupta, Vaibhav Jain and ApoorvaAwasthi respectively.
