The much awaited annual management fest OJAS ‘13 is here and the buzz is there for all to see. The event, to be hosted by Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow between 30th October and 2nd November, promises to be a spectacular affair, in keeping with its rich tradition. After all, OJAS, the college fest held by Jaipuria Lucknow, has become a marquee event in calendar year for management students across North India.

OJAS stands for Vigour and Vitality, qualities that have been a hallmark of the event over the years. And it is with such great energy that the organisers of OJAS ‘13 have put the event together. Students from colleges all over the country are expected at this hugely exciting event and they are in for a great experience, if the list of events is anything to go by.

OJAS 13 kicks off with a unique cultural extravaganza on the evening of 30th Oct. Called “A Feast For Your Senses”, the evening promises to be a delightful mix of sights, sounds and colours. But the highlight of the event is definitely the live classical Kathak and music performance organised by SPICMACAY. Students can soak in the culture, while letting their hair down to sensational music.

Staying on the high note, the event moves on to the War of Bands on 31st Oct. This Rock Fest brings together the best bands from colleges all over the country. No one would want to miss this fabulous rock music competition that has bands battling for pride and bragging rights.

Participants in different events at the fest take competition rather seriously and winning is all that matters. To know what we mean, one can head to the sports field. There are several indoor games, from Chess to Table Tennis and Carrom, where participants will be displaying their skills. Others might prefer to settle matters outside. For them, there are the outdoor sports of Cricket, Kho Kho, Football, Badminton, Athletics and Basketball. With exciting prizes to be won, the competition is likely to be fierce.

The Fashionista is another event that is definitely going to be the talking point of OJAS ‘13. Fashion Fever is turned up a notch or two as participants can dress up in their trendiest best and make an impression. With rounds like Nawabi, Gangster and Vampires and Werewolves, the event promises to be loaded with fun. But that’s not all; DJ Preet will have the crowd swaying to chart topping tunes the same evening.

There are a number of management events where students from different colleges will be testing their mettle. Finance, HR and Marketing games, to a Business Quiz and a competition to Create a Brand, these events are likely to hit the spot with students. Case Analysis, Debates, Creative Writing and a host of other events are lined up for students to showcase their talent and compete with the best from colleges across the nation.

The Prize Distribution ceremony will be held on the evening of 2nd Nov. That is the time for participants to bag the prizes that they fought so valiantly for. Then it will be time to unwind at the musical finale and put on your dancing shoes. Amit Sana, of Indian Idol Season 1 fame, will be around to set the mood for the closing night. It will certainly be a fitting finale for the fest that is bound to create memories that will be cherished for a long time to come.
