Anoushka’s online Placement experience after finishing PGDM Course
Focusing on the solution rather than the problem was the strategy that paid rich dividends for Anoushka Bhatia during the Group Discussion round of the recruitment process for Pantaloons. As she prepares to step into professional gear in times of pandemic, it’s the same strategy that will hold her in good stead. PGDM course Batch 2018 – 20 students of the leading b-School in Jaipur, India, Anouska has been placed with the leading Indian retail brand Pantaloons.
With close to 40 candidates from different campuses opting for Pantaloons, Anoushka knew that the placement process would be nerve-wracking. The selection process where the panelist created a tense environment. “They asked me to reveal something about myself that wasn’t on my CV. One minute they were asking me questions about workplace situations and the next they would trick me with personal questions. You have to be on your toes and at the top of your game to keep up with them,” she advises from experience.
Anoushka was up to the challenge because she had gone through similar drills in training leading up to the placement season. The industry exposure she received gave her enough insights to understand what was expected of her. “Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur which is also ranked one of the top MBA colleges in Jaipur, fosters an environment where the best aspects of your personality are polished and revealed. All of us have some confidence within us, but my B School gave me the platforms to showcase it to the world. Good organizations take care of all stakeholders; great institutions treat you like a family. I have always felt that at Jaipuria, Jaipur because everyone was personally involved in our success,” she says emotionally.
As a professional, Anoushka hopes to create a similar family-like environment for employees of her organization in the future. “My campus experiences have taught me how to capture people’s attention. I have worked in teams of people with different personalities and gained people management skills. I will rely on them to prove myself as a professional,” she concludes strongly.
