Jaipuria Noida Learning Management System will put the classroom at your fingertips.

Advancing further into the E-learning modeJaipuria Institute of Management Noida campus will be introducing a Learning Management System (LMS). In essence, an LMS handles and controls the delivery of self-paced, instructor led, e-learning courses. The LMS courses are published and placed in an online catalogue and users can log into the LMS and select the ones they need. An LMS can track a student’s activities, progress, compliance with assignments and more, along with providing online reports for each course and student. At Jaipuria Noida, the aim of introducing an LMS is to prepare students to use online learning and create a unique educational environment. As the system is introduced, students will learn how to navigate within the LMS, learn about “activity modules” and learn how to interact with fellow students and instructors within the system.
Activity modules contained in the Jaipuria LMS include chat, choice, forums and resources. They can be used to construct any course and personalize it to the needs of each student. The chat, choice and forums modules can only be initiated by the faculty member teaching the course. Chat will enable students and faculty to have real-time group discussions and choice enables instructors to pose questions on the subject matter being studied and offer students a number of answer choices – e-learning won’t eliminate the pop-quiz.
The forum module will contain threaded discussion boards allowing students to interact as a group to discuss, define and refine the subject matter under consideration – in effect it’s an online classroom. Instructors can put all useful study material needed into the LMS to be accessed by students via the resources module. Files, which will have a maximum size of 8 MB, can be a picture, a PDF document, a spreadsheet, a sound file or video file, with all files organized in folders and folders organized in other folders.
Once the system is introduced, students will be able to log in utilizing their username and password, at which time they’ll be taken to their own personalized home page containing some blocks and a list of their courses.
In effect, the LMS will be a website, just like any other website – available anywhere there is an intranet connection. But this website means your classroom is as close as your keyboard and your education is at your fingertips.

Our emphasis has always been on creation of value for students

As you walk his room you come across two photographs. One shows Shreevats Jaipuria stand along with legendary Warren Bufett and others of the degree that he got from New York University. This clearly reflects his vision of taking the Jaipuria Institiute of Mangement to greater heights

In an Interview with The Indian Express; Jaipuria Institiute of Mangement, talks about the scenario of management education in the country and about Jaipuria Institiute of Mangement.

How was Jaipuria Institiute of Mangement evolved over the years?

We have a legacy of almost 67 years in education. The Jaipuria family has been involved in education since 1945. In 1995 we decided to open our first B-school Lucknow.

At the time there were very few quality B-schools and with this thought in mind we opened our first B-school in Lucknow. Our emphasis has always been on creation of value in students. If you compare us to other B-schools, we always try to have the best faculty and the best infrastructure and a close interaction with the industry. So when students enter the school, from day one they have a flavour of the industry. Our faculty includes 90-plus professors. Of these, 63 are with PhD degrees.

What programmes are being offered at Jaipuria and what new programmes are you planning to launch in the coming years?

We are running PGDM programmes at all four campuses. This is an AICTE approved programme. We are not running any programme that is not approved. In this programme students can choose between specializations finance, marketing and HR. in some campuses we have IT and operations as well. We are also offering industry specific specialized programmes. In Lucknow we offer PGDM (Retail Management) and PGDM (Financial Services). In Noida we are offering two other specialised programmes i.e; PGDM (Marketing) and PGDM (Service Management).

How is the Institute faring on the placement front?

We are conducting placements in a centralized manner. We have a team at the head office as well as on the campuses that approach corporate with whom we have established a relationship over a long period of time, as well as new corporate. The placement cell comprises people whose core competence is in corporate relations. They interact with corporate the year round and try to involve them in the institute.

How has your placement record been?

Our placement records has been very good in comparison to that of most other institutes. During the past few years we have been able to place close to 95% students in good organizations. The question is whether the percentage is important or the quality. We believe that we should not compromise the quality of placement. We do not force students to join a particular company, rather we provide them a choice and counsel them, so that they join the company where they can part their skills to best use.

Who are your major recruiters?

The banking and financial services have been a major recruiters for us. These include both the private and public sector banks. Among the financial companies. Nomura India has been consistently recruiting from us. Some of our other top recruiters are ICICI Bank, Deloitte Consulting, Ernst & Young, ITC, and TVS Motors among others.

Our average package is close to 4.5 to 5 lakh. The highest domestic package has been 9 lakh. The highest international package by a student of our has been around Rs. 12 to 13 lakh.

Launch of the ‘Gen Y’ integrated Website of Jaipuria Institute of Management

Dear Reader,

As you have started browsing through the new website I would like to share with with you the ‘behind the curtains’ efforts and preparations. For us the guiding principle for this website was that it’s not just about ‘a new look’ but about being able to portray the philosophy, people and pulse of Jaipuria on the web.

So naturally, the website follows our ‘people centric approach’. Our different stakeholders (students, alumni, faculty & corporates) have come forward to share their experiences at Jaipuria. They talk about not only their academic experience and placements but also about their social, cultural and recreational experiences, which are all an important part of Jaipuria.

Then there is ‘Jaipuria Live’ – a first of its kind concept that we have introduced on the website. Jaipuria Live is a separate section on the website where different social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube and our blog) get integrated. It’s a one stop shop whereyou can feel the pulse of Jaipuria.

Then, there is also the UNCAMPUS theme. You will be able to experience that the resources, networking and learning here at Jaipuria are not restricted to any given location. As a student, faculty, corporate and a alumni you will really benefit being part of the bigger family. Experience this all and a lot more on the website.

Happy browsing!
