^AIU Recognized PGDM courses Equivalent to MBA
On 27th May 2023, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow organized its 27th Annual Convocation under the guidance of Dr. Kavita Pathak (Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow). The Chief Guest of the occasion was Shree Brajesh Pathak (Honorable Dy. Chief Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh) and The Guest of Honor was Mr. Arvind Gupta (Director and Head of Security (Global) and Quality Management Head (APJ & GC) at SAP CIM). The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Sharad Jaipuria (Chairman, Board of Governors, Jaipuria Institute of Management), Mr. Shreevats Jaipuria (Vice Chairman, Board of Governors, Jaipuria Institute of Management), Mr. Arvind Gupta (Director and Head of Security (Global) and Quality Management Head (APJ & GC) at SAP CIM).), Prof. Sushma Vishnani (Dean Academics, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow) and faculty of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow.
The 27th Annual Convocation of Batch 2021-23 saw a total of 262 students from PGDM, PGDM (Financial Services), and PGDM (Retail Management) receiving their Diplomas and being awarded medals for their academic achievements. The event began with Ms. Tanisha Agarwal (Student, Batch 2022-24) calling upon Mr. Sharad Jaipuria to declare the convocation open. It was followed by the lamp lighting ceremony and the Saraswati Vandana.
Ms. Tanisha Agarwal then called upon Mr. Sharad Jaipuria to deliver the welcoming address where he welcomed Mr. Arvind Gupta, Mr. Shreevats Jaipuria, Dr. Kavita Pathak, the members of the Academic Council, Faculty, and parents of the students. He motivated all the graduating students by reminding them how they entered Jaipuria two years ago during an uncertain and volatile environment but were able to adapt and grow through their dedication. He guided them by saying that the process of learning never ends, and they should keep this spirit of learning throughout their lives and keep growing and evolving. He said that the world is evolving at an unprecedented pace and that more change is expected in the next 10 years than has happened in the last 50 years.
He told the students that the technological world is changing every day and by 2050, Process Automation and Virtualization will be a norm. He said that with rapid changes in Quantum, AI and Fully Autonomous Vehicles, the world will grow unprecedently and the only thing we should do is to keep learning and evolving. He encouraged the students to never stop dreaming, never stop believing in themselves, never stop trying and never stop learning. Mr. Shreevats quoted famous author Mr. Roy T Bennett and said, “There are five important things for living a successful and fulfilling life: never stop dreaming, never stop believing, never give up, never stop trying, and never stop learning”. He shared with the students, the example of Mr. Jack Ma (Co-founder, Alibaba Group) who with his perseverance and dedication set up his business empire, after being rejected for more than 30 different jobs. He concluded by saying that to succeed, one should be relentless in their journey, never give up and never stop trying. He concluded by congratulating all the graduating students and reminding them to stay connected with the institution and serve as an inspiration to their juniors.
Moving further, Ms. Tanisha Agarwal called upon Dr. Kavita Pathak to present the Annual Report 2023 and welcome the guests. Dr. Pathak welcomed all the Eminent Dignitaries, Faculty, Parents, and Students to the 27th Annual Convocation. She also stated the progress made in the academic curriculum and the endeavours of the institute under the guidance of our chairman and vice-chairman to make learning exciting for students were commendable. She highlighted that this year, all faculty members undertook innovations in their courses in engagements, pedagogy, and assessment. Further, she quoted some facts from the annual report:
She also acknowledged the contribution of all the parents in shaping and molding their kids into fine human beings, and for standing up and fighting for the dreams of their kids. Further, she also advised the students for their future endeavours by reminding them of the competency goals, set by the institute, which is: to communicate effectively, apply the relevant conceptual framework to a given business situation, demonstrate the ability to work in teams to achieve the desired goals and being aware of managerial decisions on social concerns.
Moving on, Ms. Tanisha Agarwal called upon Prof. Manisha Seth (Chairperson PGDM) to the podium. Prof. Manisha Seth invited the honourable chairman to award diplomas to successful candidates of PGDM, PGDM (RM), and PGDM (FS) of the institute. All the graduating students took the PGDM oath and were conferred with their degrees by the dignitary. Further, the Dean-Academics, Prof. Sushma Vishnani announced the names of the meritorious graduating students, who were awarded medals by the honourable Guest of Honour Mr. Arvind Gupta.

Next in line was ‘The Student of the Year’ and “Woman Student of the Year” award, both of which are given respectively to the students who perform exceptionally well across all disciplines. This year the awards were conferred upon:
Commenting on a memorable day, Ms. Pragati Bansal, who was awarded the prestigious title of Student of the Year, expressed her greetings to all the dignitaries present. She stated that she felt elated and grateful to receive the prestigious award. She also thanked her parents for raising her bright and teaching her how to dream. She also expressed her gratitude towards the institute for preparing and nurturing her for the future.
In continuation with the awards ceremony, The Distinguished Alumnus Award for Corporate Excellence was awarded to Shalini Joshi and Nishant Mohnot, both of whom expressed gratitude and honour for receiving the prestigious award. Next in line were the awards for the Distinguished Faculty and Staff 2022.
Thereafter, The Guest of honor, Mr. Arvind Gupta was invited to the podium to deliver the Convocation Address. In his address, he greeted all the dignitaries present and congratulated all the graduating students and said that they should all be proud of what they have achieved today, and for this achievement, they should thank their faculties and Director ma’am. They should also not forget the contribution of their parents in their journey and should always express gratitude to them. He also advised the students to always remember the toughest part of their lives and learn from it. He also shared 4 things that one should abide by that are: 1) Never forget your roots 2) Never forget yourself 3) Never stop learning 4) Always have love for what you want to do.
He also shared a beautiful example that if one has 86400 Rupees in their bank account and someone takes 10 rupees from it, one does not give that person the amount that is left. In the same way, a day has 86400 seconds and if someone takes up our 10 seconds it does not mean that we must give them the remaining 86390 seconds too. He concluded by saying that the world is dynamic and ever-changing. There are also many cultural differences that a corporate professional should understand and respect. He concluded by saying that keep learning and keep pursuing what you love.
Our Honourable Chief Guest Shree. Brajesh Pathak, who could not be present at the event due to some pressing matters, also shared a video message in which he applauded the contributions made by Jaipuria, Lucknow in the field of management education by providing quality education to the students.
Ms. Tanisha Agarwal (Student, Batch 2022-24) then requested the dignitaries present on the dais to release the “Book of Teaching and Learning Innovation 2023”. Our Honorable Guest of Honor Mr. Arvind Gupta was also presented with a memento by Our Chairman, Mr. Sharad Jaipuria.
In the end, Mr. Shreevats Jaipuria gave the Vote of Thanks and thanked the eminent Chief Guest for sharing valuable insights and time with the faculty, the previous day. He also thanked the Guest of Honour for sharing his valuable time and even more valuable life experiences and guidance with all present. He praised Mr. Arvind Gupta on how he serves as an inspiration for all the students. He also thanked the Director, Dr. Kavita Pathak and all the faculties and staff for their continuous efforts to turn Jaipuria’s vision into a reality. He praised the accomplishments of students and thanked the parents for their unwavering and continuous support. He also stated that regardless of adversity, we should pursue lifelong learning. The convocation ceremony concluded with the playing of the national anthem.
