The 2013 academic year got off to a trademark grand start at Jaipuria Institute of Management. A 10-day Orientation Programme, held across the four Jaipuria campuses at Lucknow, Noida, Jaipur and Indore, proved to be of immense learning value to the joining batch.

“This year, we made sure that corporate leaders from as many different sectors and areas as possible were able to share their expectations with the students,” says R. K. Rishiraj (Head –Corporate Relations & Placements). “This will help students at Jaipuria get into the groove straightaway, and align their training to their target sectors.  There were speakers from Banking, Insurance, FMCG and Retail, as well as entrepreneurs, in functional areas of Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Operations. Numerous alumni were also invited to share their experiences of Jaipuria and in industry as well. Topics like etiquette, ethical conduct and Corporate Social Responsibility were a critical part of the programme and were touched upon by almost every speaker, showing their increasing importance in the professional world.”

The students made the most of these opportunities to clear their doubts, and get an understanding of what industry expects from future managers. Interestingly, the number of students who have joined the state-of-the-art, completely digital Jaipuria
Indore has shot up to 62, after the recent immensely successful placement of its first batch of 37 students.

“The diversity among students in terms of their educational backgrounds and native place is something which has caught my attention,” says Prof. Romi Sainy, the co-ordinator of the Orientation Programme at Jaipuria Indore. “I am looking forward to engaging in more sessions with the bunch of young and enthusiastic minds.”

“During the Orientation this time, we gave the batch of 2013-15 a glimpse of campus life in Jaipuria,” says Prof. Poonam Sharma, Coordinator for the Orientation programme at Jaipuria Noida. “Apart from the panel sessions and foundation classes, students got a hang of the Yoga, theatre, sports, dance and music offered here. Its seems to have sunk in that this exposure will definitely put them in a different league.”

Those who joined Jaipuria Lucknow did not take long to realise why it had recently been ranked the 6th best B-School in North India. The host of bigwigs from the public and corporate sectors during these 10 days included Mr. D.K. Garg (GM, Bank of Baroda), Justice Bhanwar Singh (Chairman- Judges Training Research Institute), Justice D. K. Upadhyaya (Honorable Judge, High Court-Lucknow Bench), Mr. Ravindra Shukla (Sr. VP, Sales and Marketing, Heidelberg Cement), Professor Vipin Shukla (Scientist-E, TIFAC), Mr. Himanshu Manglik (Head, Corp.
