Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur hosted its 9th Annual Convocation for the PGDM Batch 2014-16 on the 7thof May, 2016. Shri S. K Roongta, Chairman, Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd. (BALCO), graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Amongst the other dignitaries were Mr. Sharad Jaipuria, Chairman and Mr. Shreevats Jaipuria, Vice Chairman, Board of Governors and Dr. Prabhat Pankaj, Director, Jaipuria, Jaipur.
Congratulating the 101 students of the 2014-2016 graduating batch, Shri S. K. Roongta said: “Remember that you should always act as change agents and have the right attitude towards work and the workplace. Focus on being constructive and creating value.”
Mr. Sharad Jaipuria, in his inspiring speech said “Life has no curriculum and no single teacher. The hungrier you are, the more you are able to absorb and the better it will serve you in times to come. You may not be able to use every single piece of information in the short term, but when combined, these small pieces will make you see opportunities when they appear.”
Mr. Shreevats Jaipuria advised that “There will be challenges in every step whether a student selects a corporate career, becomes an entrepreneur or pursues a pathless journey. These challenges can be met through self-determination and self-belief.”
Dr. Prabhat Pankaj focused on the importance of self-enhancement and integrity. Quoting former President Dr. A.P.J. Kalam, Dr. Pankaj said: “If you salute your duty, you do not need to salute anybody; but if you pollute your duty, you have to salute everybody.”And like Shri. Roongta, he urged students to understand the importance of having the right attitude towards work and their careers.
On this occasion, various awards were also given to appreciate the hard work and sincerity of the graduating batch. Ms. Shivika Rathore was awarded Chairman’s Gold Medal, and Ms. Atisha Goyal was awarded Vice- Chairperson’s Silver Medal. The Director’s Bronze Medal was awarded to Ms. Maitriben Uttambharti Goswami.
Awards in the categories of top academic performers were given to Ms. Prachi Khettry – Marketing, Ms. Atisha Goyal – Finance, Ms Shivika Rathore – Human Resource Management and Ms Maitriben Uttambharti Goswami- IT & Operations.
Dr Nidhi Vashishth was given the ‘Best Faculty Award’ for her outstanding contribution to academics and student development, and Mr. Atul Khandelwal from the founding batch 2006-08 was awarded ‘Best Alumni’.
