Jaipuria, Jaipur hosts Marketing Conclave 2015 on the topic of New Age Marketing; the event makes its mark with students

Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur recently organized its much awaited Marketing Conclave 2015 on the theme “New Age Marketing”. The one day conclave held on the 19th of September brought together several big names from the industry and academia.

The conclave began with the traditional lighting of the lamp and Dr. Prabhat Pankaj, Director, Jaipuria Jaipur, took to the stage to deliver his welcome address. From the 3Vs of marketing to the 4 Ps, the talk touched upon several existing and new concepts in the domain. According to Dr. Pankaj, “It is high time that mass marketing changes to new age marketing to develop analytical skills. The main aim of marketing should be to engage, benefit and empower customers.” Prof. Suman Sarkar, Consultant, Times Group, was the keynote speaker for the inaugural session. He emphasized that, “Another major trend is that economic power is shifting from the West to the East. In today’s world you cannot get away with just money, and business can’t be defined by profits and shareholders.”

To highlight the different aspects of new age marketing, two important panel discussions with noted guests were held on subjects “360° Marketing” and “Innovations in Marketing”. The first panel discussion, “360° Marketing”, brought several top names together, including Mr. Atul Kakkar, Zonal Manager, Reliance JIO Infocom Ltd., Mr. Vivek Gupta, CEO – Marketing Mastermindz, Mr. Saurabh Sharma, Director, Onio Seller Services Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Vinay Sethia, Senior Associate Director, Sales & Strategy, Girnar Soft Pvt. Ltd.

During the discussion, Mr. Sethia revealed that 360 degree marketing is also called ‘Integrated Marketing’ and emphasized on search engine optimization. Mr. Sharma then elaborated on how 360 degree marketing is actually being implemented in the market. Mr. Kakkar remained hopeful about PM Narendra Modi’s vision for Digital India and said, “Digital marketing has evolved since 2010 and will grow rapidly in coming years.”

The second panel discussion revolved around “Innovations in Marketing” and had Mr. Ashish Agarwal, Head Export Marketing, Genus Power Systems Ltd., Prof. Himanshu Misra, Assistant Professor – Marketing, Jaipuria, Lucknow, Mr. Praveen Mishra, Branding & Communication Manager, Wonder Cement and Mr. Kanuj Anand, Area Manager, ITC Ltd. sharing their thoughts on the subject. Mr. Himanshu Mishra, moderated the session and stressed on the need for innovation in marketing.

Mr. Anand kept things relevant for the students by sharing experiences from his own organization to offer insight into strategy, communication and product marketing. Mr. Mishra, on the other hand, focused on the latest changes in the field of marketing and the strategies that are being employed in the industry. The interactive session nicely rounded off the conclave, which had several important takeaways for students present in the audience.
