Mahima Jain was right in the middle of her placement process with the Royal Bank of Scotland when a nationwide lockdown was announced during the Covid-19 pandemic. The Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida student managed to clear the final round through an online interview, that was arranged by the best Business School in Noida. “Right at the beginning of the zoom call, I gently asked them how the team was coping during the lockdown. They appreciated the question and asked me how I took to the online mode of work and training. I think my interpersonal skills turned things in my favor,” she says.

Her reward was placement with RBS as a Financial Analyst. Mahima tells us that right from her first day at top MBA colleges named Jaipuria Noida through the time she chose PGDM in Finance and Business Analytics as specializations, it remained her goal. “The past two years have strengthened me to work extra hours, handle the pressure of multiple deadlines, be flexible in every situation, and go beyond my comfort zone. I also want to thank the Placement Cell for online training, company updates, and mentor interactions,” she adds.

Mahima’s own sparkling record during those two years at this top b-school made a big impression too. She won the Academic Excellence Award for consistently being the subject topper, won Equity Competition, and the First Prize in the campus for Finance Aptitude Test. During her internship, she solved a business problem, which brought her a Letter of Appreciation. “I see those achievements as experiences, which have made me confident about working in the current scenario. My mentors keep me abreast about work demands and world scenarios,” she claims.

Mahima asserts that getting placed with RBS is an immense opportunity and responsibility. She is aware that the leading bank has hired her management institutes’ seniors in the past and she will now be the torchbearer for those to follow. “I have been given this opportunity because our alumni have proven themselves in the organization. It’s the reason RBS contacted our placement cell even when they had only one position,” she concludes on a thoughtful note. She certainly made it count.
