On September 4th, seventy-six students (Batch of 2014-2016) from Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore, who had successfully completed their Summer Internships, gave presentations about their projects and learning experience. The students had gone through 45 days of industrial training, which gave them an insight into real-world corporate life and firsthand experience of working in various organizations. They shared their experiences in the form of presentations that were evaluated by leading names from the industry. Madyantika Mehra, Nancy Jain and Richa Puri bagged the top three positions at the end of the two rounds of presentations.

SIPs offer students an excellent opportunity to gain practical knowledge and prepare themselves for their careers. They realize what the industry expects out of them as future managers and the exposure of working with professionals is vital for their growth. Jaipuria, Indore had done everything possible to offer its students the best possible experience by getting them internships with premier organizations. Some of the big-name companies include: Hitachi, Emami, SBI, Idea Telecom, Outlook group of Magazine, Capital First Ltd., ICICI Securities, Tata Motors, Videocon, Coca-Cola, and Sab Miller.

They shared their experiences and talked about the knowledge they had gained through presentations that were evaluated by corporate bigwigs. Among the judges were Mr. Ashish Mahajan, Director, Systematrix InfoTech Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Chinmaya Shrivastava, Sr. Manager Marketing & Branding, 47 Billion, Mr. Sunil Mishra, Branch Manager, Crompton Greaves, Mr. Vikas Tiwari, Head Marketing & Communication, Reliance Communications, Mr. Aditya Vikram Singh, Head Sales & Revenue DB Corp, Mr. Mahendra Chauhan, Territory Manager, Ceasefire, Mr. Sanjay Suri, Senior Territory Manager, Ceasefire and Mr. Akashya Jain, Founder CEO, Crenovate. It led to engaging interactions between the industry experts and future managers.

10 finalists were chosen from the students and they made their next round of presentations on the 28th of October. The event was organized by Dr. Charu Dubey, Coordinator SIP, along with the Placement team. The finalists were judged on different aspects including clarity of thought, domain knowledge and the work they had done during their internship. Mr. Chandra Shekhar, Branch head (MP, CG), Agility Global Integrated Logistics, and Mr. Prakulp Mattha AVP, Commercial Head of Treasure Island Real Estate’s Pvt. Ltd, were the renowned judges for the final round of presentations. They were impressed with the creative presentations and praised the students for their hard work and commitment.

In her winning presentation, Madhyantika Mehra talked about Aditya Birla Retail Limted on More Mega store and highlighted different types of recruitment processes and the Buddy Mapping initiative taken by her. Through a video presentation, she talked about the efforts she had taken in different areas at the organization and how she had grown through them. Richa Puri, who bagged the third prize for her presentation, showcased her work with corporate giant Videocon. Her project involved understanding consumer turnout, why customers are moving out of operations, the pros and cons of National MNPs and challenges faced by the telecom industry. There were interesting findings in each of the presentations, which went on to show what a valuable experience the SIP had been for students.
