Rashmeet, Samrat, Saagar – The trio from Jaipuria set to start their career with HCL

Rashmeet, Samrat, Saagar – The trio from Jaipuria who are all set to start their career with HCL

What constitutes a successful career? Well, to begin with, a great education degree from a reputed institute, mentors who always motivate you, and professors who prepare you to take up every challenge with a winning attitude.
The journey of success, then we can say, begins on a campus where each student is nurtured to accomplish something great.
Rashmeet, Samrat, and Saagar can vouch for such a journey they had at Jaipuria Institute of Management, which is India’s one of the best MBA Colleges in Noida, Delhi NCR, Indore, Lucknow and Jaipur. Recently, all three of them got placed with HCL Technologies.
While the world today struggles with covid crisis, the Institute has actively facilitated the students in every possible way – be it holding classes on campus or online, expert talks, placements, or convocation.
Jaipuria Institute of Management is committed to excellence in management education. Here, faculty members are always available to help and guide the students to make them corporate-ready. They leave no stones unturned to provide students with training sessions, learning materials, industry talks, which helps in preparing us according to industry requirements,” Rashmeet says.
“Constant motivation and support are two pillars that always helped us to get our best possible potentials”, says Samrat. He adds that faculty and staff members have always been supportive in bringing out the best possible opportunities for us to excel.
An important feature of the Placement Training program is pre-placement talks, personality development, and preparatory classes (including mock interviews). This is compulsory for all eligible students.
Saagar shares that since the lockdown, as interactions and interviews moved online, the Institute was quick in organizing the Online Etiquettes session, Personality sessions, Optimizing LinkedIn session, Training about different virtual meet platforms such as Zoom, Google meet, MS Teams. “Moreover, we were provided company-specific training not once but at least twice,” says Saagar with appreciation.
The interview with HCL Technologies involved several rounds. It began with a Group Interview wherein all 10 candidates were asked a similar set of questions. The focus was to assess a student’s communication, attitude, and general awareness skills.
The second round was a personal interview, where among other things questions related to student’s background, situational-based questions, why the student wants to join the IT industry were asked. The interviewer wanted to understand a student’s perception of the job description also. The third round was also an intensive personal interview. Lastly, a Group HR round was conducted. Here students have shared the location constraints and what are the things a student should do before joining the organization.
Saagar is thankful to his professors – Dr. Sajjan Singhvi and Prof. V P Singh – who has been a constant inspiration to him throughout his 2 years of MBA. He says that in these 2 years at Jaipuria Noida, his mentor Prof. Joy Patra put in more efforts to chisel him than Saagar himself did. “It is indeed great to have the full support of your MBA institute to make your dreams come true,” Samrat says.
Collectively, a lot of things put together strengthens your future success. Among them, the first one is to live your dream of getting ‘campus placement’.
At Jaipuria, we take care of your dreams!

The strength of belief and encouraging words- a lesson to learn from Pushpendra’s PGDM journey at Jaipuria

“One of our professor of Information system in the first trimester during our ITM classroom session asked us a simple question- “Is there anyone here who has not worked in any Microsoft tool ever in life,” recalls Pushpendra with a smile on his face. “And I was the only one who had raised his hand, confessing that I had not and it took almost the entire class by surprise. My professor suggested immediately that I have to work really hard to ace up. That particular moment taught me a lot,” adds Pushpendra. By the time he was wrapping up the course, this Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida boy of Class 2019 had scored the 2nd highest in the subject.
The Jaipuria Institute of Management classrooms are really interesting spaces with myriads of life transforming stories and experiences embedded in them. Students come from across entire India, spend their 2 years pursuing excellence and in the process- leave their indelible marks in the growth story of the B-school and students like Pushpendra are perfect examples. However, what makes the learning ecosystem of a B-school like Jaipuria absolutely unique are the people themselves- they celebrate each other, and hold each other up in times of failures and successes. Each and every student contributes to the life of their peers and all of it in absolute humility and earnestness! It almost comes naturally to a Jaipurian- to stand as a rock by its team or teammate, as if it is a part of the b-school’s very DNA. And that is exactly what Pushpendra did for his friends and his friends did for him in return. How?
Be it managing the study group or giving proxy to friends busy in placement processes, Pushpendra did not deter from his responsibilities as a team member or a friend and when his turn came, his peers did not disappoint him either. “I was at the Group Discussion round of Amazon and I desperately wanted to make it to the organization. However, things didn’t work out in my favor despite all the hard work I had put into it and the rejection had me hit hard to the effect of losing all self-confidence. Recruiters were continuously visiting campuses and I did not have any ounce of interest left in me to sit for any other process. But my friends did not give up on me. IDFC First Bank arrived the subsequent week and they insisted I take the test. I was absolutely reluctant but they would not give up and pushed me to go ahead,” remarks Pushpendra who is now one of the new Management Trainees in the Sales Office of the organization. He had not informed his father about it till the HR declared his name among the finally selected candidates. “I was scared of disappointing him the second time, so I went from Noida to Jaipur campus for the selection round without informing him and when I finally got the job and informed him, he was pleasingly surprised,” says the boy who started with IDFC First from April 15, 2019.
However, nothing has been more inspiring for Pushpendra Singh Rathore than his mentor Prof. Ajay Bansal. “He always said- I will do something great in life and not just stop at getting a placement, and I will do whatever it takes to ensure his belief in me does not go to waste,” he says.
Pushpendra believes Jaipuria Institute of Management’s 2 years taught him to be a good human being above everything else. Team work, CSR activities, selflessness are just among hundred other things Pushpendra thinks his PGDM has taught him. He had arrived at the B-school in the summer of 2017 with the hope of gaining as much knowledge as possible in his specialization, perform as many Live projects that 2 years could offer and secure a good placement. And now that he is graduating from the school, he feels “I have almost all boxes of my check-list, ticked green.”

Law and then PGDM- how does Shivika think it worked for her?

It’s funny how the little mischievous moments stay in heart far longer than the gravely serious ones. And Shivika Perti reinstates the same feeling as she says- “now that I am all set to step out of campus, all the silly things we did as students make me want to stay more.” Shivika is about to join Godrej as a Management Trainee in a matter of few months and as graduation time is coming closer, class 2019 is wrapped with a sense of nostalgia and Shivika is no exception. “We would wait for the attendance procedure to get over and then try figure out excuses to bunk the lecture no matter how interesting the session is; you know how it is in student life right?” quips the girl from Lucknow who arrived to Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida to pursue her PGDM.
Shivika had completed her internship with Amul and the summer stint needed her to increase the demand of Curd and Buttermilk in South East Delhi. “I already felt prepared for Godrej because the job responsibility corresponds to that of what I had experienced with Amul already,” and complementing that further is Shivika’s Law Degree with specialization in Corporate Law.
When Shivika sat for the interview with Godrej, she was clearly asked- “why did you even opt for joining an MBA while you could have already joined the corporate world with your law degree,” and she was ready with her answer. “I wanted to complete my education in every way possible. While Law taught me about various functional verticals of the corporate world, Management gave me the overall perspective,” answered the girl confidently. In fact, Shivika strongly thinks that her recruitment with Godrej will also help the organization gain from her skill-set and she adds further, “in my opinion, all law graduates must pursue a Management program for fine-tuning their careers and enter the industry with clarity.”

Living the Dream from the Other Side of the Coin and Sharing the Journey with Colgate-Palmolive – Not as a Customer, but an Employee

A post-graduate student from Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida talks about his journey towards achieving his goals and successfully securing a job with Colgate Palmolive
Sometimes you need to find your career, and sometimes, your career finds you. Born in the interiors of Uttar Pradesh, Neeraj Tripathi grew up aspiring to become a Management post-graduate. Similar to a lot of other professionals in the sector, his passion for specializing in Marketing came not from great future prospects, but from an intense desire to learn and practice the art of selling without actually selling.
Neeraj’s first step towards getting into Marketing for a brand like Colgate Palmolive began with scouting for opportunities internally. Luckily, that worked for him. That was the time when he realized the potential of chasing for the finest job, and for that he decided to reskill himself to suit into the industry parameters. Today a proud employee of his dream-like workplace, he recalls the placement interview phase, “there was immense competition for this profile, since we were 60 of us who applied for it. The first question was tricky, and it baffled me instantly. I was asked – if a distributor does not assign work to you during your training period, what will you chose to do in that period? Today, I’m glad for the answer I gave during that time,” said Neeraj.
The thing he most appreciates is the encouragement and guidance he got from his professors at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida. Through all the reading between the lines and dedicatedly working towards achieving the set goals, he ultimately learned that the only person holding him back from doing so was himself. He adds, “What set me apart from the crowd was my willingness to learn, unlearn, re-learn and maintaining self-confidence. Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida helped me prepare for the job marketplace, tremendously. The MBA program was perhaps the gateway to my future.”
Three months away from contributing towards a new stint as a Customer Development Officer, Neeraj happily owes the credit to his internship experience at Amul and Mr. Karni Singh Jhala from Viacom 18 who truly inspired him. As a piece of advice, Neeraj adds, “While it’s easy to give excuses and difficult to maintain consistency, do not give up without even trying to know what’s in there. Everybody around us is always helpful – in my case, my professors, my fellow-students, friends, and undoubtedly, my family. You can be your own mentor, but that does not mean you shouldn’t pay heed to what others suggest”
Life holds a special place for those who dare to dream beyond their capacity. Neeraj aspired to build a career with nothing but the best, and that’s what he manifested. He recalls and says, “I remember travelling back to Noida from hometown and that’s when I got a call from Colgate. While I did secretly hope for good news, I didn’t see my dream coming true so quickly. The first call I made was to my parents, and I’ll never forget that day.”

Ikroop Kaur Kalra’s PGDM specialization is Marketing and she is now the new Asst. Store Manager to one of India’s celebrated retail fashion brands

There were 20 students from Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore campus who sat for the Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail’s interview process. “Each one of us were focused and absolutely determined, with everything we needed to outshine in the selection, however, I was sure I wouldn’t be beaten at any cost,” remarks Ikroop who is going to get on-board with India’s leading fashion retail house as a Assistant Store Manager to begin with.
Ikroop was tested throughout the selection. With one question coming after the other from across the interviewer’s side, Ikroop knew she had to keep calm. However, the trickiest was- “why don’t you join your father’s already established business and make more in it?” And, she had her answers up her sleeve. The girl from Bhopal wishes she had just dealt one question a bit better and that was- “what are few things you would want to do to motivate your stuff?” But, what matters is- it all ended well.
Being an Assistant Store Manager, Ikroop would need to look after achievement of sales target, store operations management, focus on the requirements of the customers, ensure customer service quality, and everyone at store. As she had opted for Marketing as one of her specializations, she feels completely at home with her new roles and responsibilities. “At Jaipuria, Indore we are trained in a very immersive ecosystem and curriculum. I have been imparted with both theoretical and practice oriented concepts under Retail Marketing. Field visit to Big Bazaar and other departmental stores were organized to impart us with clarity on- how stores are managed. We were taught how various concepts of Visual Merchandising work, retail shrinkage, retail formats and layouts, ruture retail trends like Bit coins, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, etc.,” explains Ikroop while talking about her strength areas and how she will add value to her organization with a sound PGDM education in her kitty. Adding to all of it, her summer internship with HDFC bank during her first year at Jaipuria, Indore had her taste the corporate world where she could open 8 savings account in 45 days. Experiences like that are invaluable indeed!
Ikroop was at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida campus when the news of her final selection arrived. “I was overwhelmed with phone calls from my friends and colleagues and it was after 15 or 20 minutes that I could finally call my parents about the offer from Aditya Birla Retail and that was when I felt complete,” she says.
This dynamic, young and ambitious Jaipurian is all set to begin her corporate sojourn from 4th February, 2019 and she wishes her teachers to remember her as a honest, disciplined person with a good presence of mind.

Agrima of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida talks about her complete PGDM experience that ends with a beautiful beginning

For Satna born Agrima Shrivastava, PGDM has been a very serious journey but the cheerful girl did not forget to catch up on her share of fun either. “We had our moments. For instance, we secretly ate lunch in the classroom while hiding it from the course instructor or sometimes simply indulged in a round of pen fights while instructor was delivering a lecture… I mean it is of course silly and irresponsible on our part but then, come on, we are students after all,” remarks Agrima with a mischievous smile on her lips. The girl just wrapped a power-packed PGDM from Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida with a 9.57 LPA CTC being offered to her from Federal Bank. What was the interview process like?
“Oh it was intense!” she quips. There were 150 students vying for the office of the Junior Management Grade 1 of Federal Bank but Agrima knew she had to keep her calm and stay true no matter what. The final selection process started with an aptitude test followed by a group discussion and interview. “There were volleys of questions coming from the interviewer but there was a particular one which had me thinking on my toes- what is that one topic which you don’t like to talk about with people? Took me a while to answer that,” says Agrima.
During her interview, Agrima mostly drew her experience from her internship that Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida had facilitated for her after she completed her first year of PGDM at the B-school. She had interned with Voltas where she had worked as a finance intern in the company’s finance and commercial department. The project was on working capital management. And in Agrima’s words- “a lot of questions revolved around my project and work responsibilities at Voltas.” Her specialization in Finance and Marketing was a cherry on the cake. Her domain knowledge backed by her two years’ training within an intensive PGDM curriculum had her deal questions around teamwork and people management efficiently.
And did the MP girl know she was going to make it to one of the major scheduled commercial banks of India as soon she completed her PGDM? Well, of course not but what Agrima knew was- “to not leave any opportunity unanswered.” She stayed focused in her academics from day one in her PGDM and kept herself occupied with one of the busiest student clubs on campus- the Media Relations Club (MRC) alongside. She was one of the key content writers of the team and was also a member of the Communications Club. While others might network to make business contacts, Agrima networked to make friends and build relationships. “I met fabulous people these last 2 years of my PGDM life and I am hopeful, we shall stay in touch and contribute to the world in our own big or small yet significant ways,” says the girl who is about to join Federal Bank in a matter of few months.

Eduroomz – A Story of Startup by 5 Jaipurians

Among the myriad tales of start-ups in India is a tale worth telling. This is a story of innovation, dream, tenacity and above all, of relentless motivation. This is the tale of Eduroomz.

“The greatest achievement was, at first, and for a time, but a dream.”
Napoleon Hill (from Think and grow rich)

Eduroomz was the dreamchild of Akshay, one of the 5 Jaipurians from the Lucknow campus who introduced the novel concept of providing classrooms to teachers. The journey of Eduroomz started as Akshay ramped up his team and implemented his idea on small- scale. While Akshay’s dream Start-up was just budding, Jaipuria’s MiDCOM BUSINESS CHALLENGE came as a boon to his team as they were given an opportunity to present their business plan. How could their dreams fail them? They won the title and were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakhs!

“If you have zeal to succeed, you have all you need to succeed”- is what Eduroomz believe in. Eduroomz provide rooms on rent to teachers who wish to impart knowledge but lack space to make their visions a reality. So if you are a teacher and have students with the desire to teach, Eduroomz has a room for you! The best part is the nominal cost, which is as low as Rs. 49 per hour. As a token to contribute to the society and not hinder the stream of knowledge from flowing, even in absence of monetary benefits Eduroomz is determined to provide rooms of knowledge to the weaker sections of society. So if you see an air conditioned classroom at Rs. 49 per hour (irrespective of the strength of the class), flexibility in terms of timings and independent work space to teachers, you are looking at an Eduroomz!

The Eduroomz team comprises of 5 members. Since it’s a startup by students, role switching is common and in a way this strengthens the team to explore all operational perspectives.

Right from the very beginning, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow has provided an uninterrupted support to Eduroomz. Because the expert team could recognise potential in budding enterpreneurs, be it providing various platforms to showcase a plan, mentorship and guidance, or networking, Jaipuria has been a pillar of support to Eduroomz. Jaipuria has also been working upon the team’s request to incorporate an incubation centre collaborated with the U.P. government.

It’s not that there have not been obstacles in the journey of Eduroomz. When it comes to education, ideas and results often do not coincide. Eduroomz has endured the obstacles and has built up a robust client network. Eduroomz is Lucknow’s well- knit network with well-equipped classrooms, conference halls, computer labs and study lounges. Eduroomz own 50+ properties with more than five thousand teaching slots in a month, where the priority is to provide teaching by experts at affordable prices.

Eduroomz is still experimenting to include other services, planning to expand its horizons over the next decade and create a niche where online teaching is taking over offline classrooms.

The most unanimous message that these young entrepreneurs wish to convey to those who aspire to have a start- up of their own someday is to be assured that no matter how meticulously they plan, their plans will fail, but the key is to plot a new scheme every time the old one is reduced to ashes. They also suggest stepping out and analysing the needs of target customers instead of planning in isolation because the key to a successful start- up is knowing the demands of target population and targeting them. Jaipuria is glad it could provide aid to these young minds and is committed to their success throughout their journey.

Good attitude, coupled with hardwork helped PGDM’s Sulaxmi of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow come a long way

“There is a thing about trust. It helps you achieve great many things,” believes Sulaxmi, the PGDM graduate of Class 2018 of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow. Sulaxmi just bagged herself a placement with Capital First and she couldn’t thank her faculty and mentors enough. For her, “had it not been for their unwavering support and the trust of my mother, the journey would have been incomplete.”

From the moment you start speaking to Sulaxmi, you realize, the humility and simplicity with which the girl approaches life. Thankful to circumstances, friends and kins at every step, Sulaxmi happily sidesteps all the personal effort and hard work she has put in her 2 years of PGDM. When asked, what is it that she wants to do with her first salary that she would be drawing from Capital First as a Associate Credit Manager, she remarks “Family first! I want to send them gifts as token of my appreciation. They need to know how important they have been throughout, for me.”

The Kanpur girl wishes to bring to her organization her undying spirit. “I want to stabilize relationships and enhance the levels of cooperation, collaboration, and trust that exist between people by interacting with others personally, competently, and effectively,” she elaborates. But just what kind of training does she have in order to achieve any of it? The classroom pedagogy at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow consists of unique mentorship programme, diversified peer group, highly experienced faculty, strong industry exposure, and individual development programs. These couples with a state-of-the-art campus have helped Sulaxmi rise above her dreams.
