Jaipuria Noida Learning Management System will put the classroom at your fingertips.

Advancing further into the E-learning mode, Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida campus will be introducing a Learning Management System (LMS). In essence, an LMS handles and controls the delivery of self-paced, instructor led, e-learning courses. The LMS courses are published and placed in an online catalogue and users can log into the LMS and select the ones they need. An LMS can track a student’s activities, progress, compliance with assignments and more, along with providing online reports for each course and student. At Jaipuria Noida, the aim of introducing an LMS is to prepare students to use online learning and create a unique educational environment. As the system is introduced, students will learn how to navigate within the LMS, learn about “activity modules” and learn how to interact with fellow students and instructors within the system.
Activity modules contained in the Jaipuria LMS include chat, choice, forums and resources. They can be used to construct any course and personalize it to the needs of each student. The chat, choice and forums modules can only be initiated by the faculty member teaching the course. Chat will enable students and faculty to have real-time group discussions and choice enables instructors to pose questions on the subject matter being studied and offer students a number of answer choices – e-learning won’t eliminate the pop-quiz.
The forum module will contain threaded discussion boards allowing students to interact as a group to discuss, define and refine the subject matter under consideration – in effect it’s an online classroom. Instructors can put all useful study material needed into the LMS to be accessed by students via the resources module. Files, which will have a maximum size of 8 MB, can be a picture, a PDF document, a spreadsheet, a sound file or video file, with all files organized in folders and folders organized in other folders.
Once the system is introduced, students will be able to log in utilizing their username and password, at which time they’ll be taken to their own personalized home page containing some blocks and a list of their courses.
In effect, the LMS will be a website, just like any other website – available anywhere there is an intranet connection. But this website means your classroom is as close as your keyboard and your education is at your fingertips.

Students share their views about life at Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida

The first year students- Jigyasa Khusrum and Shipra Sinha and the second year students- Eshna Aggarwal, Ritika Mallick, Parul Nigam and Shikha Gupta- from PGDM General and HR shared their experiences about being at Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida which happens to be one of the top management institutes in India. These PGDM General students specializing in different fields such as Marketing, HR, Finance, Operations, etc shared various aspects of life at Jaipuria Noida.
It was seen that while the first year students seemed quite thrilled about being at the institute. Jigyasa Khusrum and Shipra Sinha from 1st year PGDM shared that, “life at Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida was full of fun and excitement”. The second year students were of the opinion that the life of an MBA student is not all that easy; they shared that studies come first and fun and frolic has to take a back seat. However, one thing that the students from both batches agreed upon was that Jaipuria Noida offered an excellent learning experience and is helping them groom into well-trained and knowledgeable professionals.
Shikha Gupta from 2nd year admitted that “Though the life at Jaipuria Noida is quite hectic, they are satisfied that all the hard work and efforts put in are worth and would make them industry-ready”. The students appreciate the fact that at Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida they are given the kind of industry exposure that no other management institute offers. “They are actually converting us into highly professional people”, shared Parul Nigam, a second-year PGDM General student.
As per these students, every day at Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida is a challenge and a new learning experience. “Each and every day is innovative, full of opportunities. There is enough scope of learning new things at Jaipuria”, shared Abhishek Parmanik, a 1st-year student. Siddharth Vaish, another student from his batch, shared how he started his own campus company after joining the institute. He said that, “at Jaipuria Noida, we are given an opportunity to explore a number of things. All of us are involved in several activities that help us learn and grow”. Abhishek Parmanik and Siddharth Vaish also shared that they are organizing a rally that would promote the use of Oxo-biodegradable plastic bags instead of the usual plastic or paper bags.
Though students at Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida spend most of their time studying, however, they do take out some time for recreation as well. Most of these students love spending time at the institute’s Amphitheatre. It is their favorite spot to de-stress. The other preferred spot where they can relax and have fun is the canteen. The students are all praise for the institute’s canteen. “We love the food served here; it is delicious”, shared Ritika Mallick from 2nd year. The students also appreciate the fact that they can make credit purchases at the canteen. Apart from these, the girls shared that they like the garden area and love spending time there while the boys said that they went to play Volley Ball to de-stress themselves. They also go to the IT labs to access Facebook and other social networking sites to connect with their old friends. The institute also screens movies in its auditorium once or twice a month. These again are a good source of entertainment and recreation for the students.
Then, there are several clubs such as the movie club, dance club, dramatics club, etc at Jaipuria Noida that provide the much-needed break to the students. Most of the students are enrolled in these clubs and love taking part in the various activities that are organized from time to time.

Punarsangam: Jaipuria Institute of Management all campus alumni meet

Jaipuria Noida was decorated grandly. Every light shone bright and the welcome committee were busy with registrations, which grew by the minute after the initial flood of 120 confirmations.
The meet was started by welcoming the Guests and the Alumni with flower, tilak, lighting of lamp & recitation of vandana. It was followed by a welcome speech by Mr. Shreevats Jaipuria –Executive Director ,who welcomed all & said that, “the greatest asset of any institute is it’s people – the students, the faculty, the staff the administration and the Alumnus.” Dr. J D Singh –Director General, in his welcome note said that “the main aim of the Meet is to promote and foster interaction amongst the Alumni, Faculty and present Students and to engage with our Alma Mater in order to raise the college at different levels and also to help fellow Alumni through various initiatives.” Hon’ble Sharad Jaipuria -Chairman of Jaipuria Institute of Management were very happy with the way the event flowed so seamlessly from one element to the next.
The Punarsangam evening of December 10, 2011 was a success . “Punarsangam was the first ever all campus alumni meet of all Jaipuria institutes. I must credit the student organizers for putting up such a grand show at such short notice. I could see the smiles and the joy on our alumni’s faces as they met again. It is so nice that they are all doing well in their careers and are good human beings. Jaipuria’s ideals are upheld, and that is a feather in our caps,” said Mr. Sharad Jaipuria, Chairman of Jaipuria Institute of Management. The event glittered with speeches, games & fun by the Alumni who shared their experiences. They were all very nostalgic about the years that they spent in the college. All were unanimous in echoing their feelings that college has played a very vital role in shaping their destiny.
Faculty organizer, Prof. Poonam Sharma, said, “This was the first alumni meet of the NCR Chapter where students from all the campuses of Jaipuria Institute of Management met, interacted and networked with each other. This also allowed the faculty to interact with alumni from all four campuses.” We wanted to re-establish connection of other alumni with the institute – for example, a Jaipuria Indore alumni working inDelhiwould not be able to attend the Alumni Meet atIndore, but could attend a nearby Jaipuria alumni meet.”
The Jaipuria alumni continue to be in touch with their Alma Mater via guest lectures, placements, contributing articles to the college magazines and judging various Jaipuria Institute’s events. Their institute gives them recognition and a chance to interact with current students.
To attend the 10 December meet, alumni worked around their prior commitments and came in huge numbers. “We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. I think Jaipuria should have many more such events so we can meet our batch mates and see what the current students are capable of & guide them,” said an enthusiastic Alum. “We never had classical dancers in our class. Both Sneha and Bytris are such skilful dancers with effortless grace.” One thing is a given: all Jaipuria students are constant learners. They know that a formal qualification is the doorway to more knowledge.
“The other cultural events were a treat too which included skits, dance, acting, & a band performance by ‘Lafz-e-Delhi’ !” another Alum quips.
Education needs to be all round. Jaipuria Institute’s intention of inculcating values of “commitment, excellence and quality” has successfully impacted its alumni. A good manager is someone whose interests go beyond single minded focus on a career. Jaipuria Noida’s Punarsangam proved just that.

Despite some cultural and communication problems, Finnish exchange student Pirita has enjoyed her stay at Jaipuria Institute of Management. In Finland, Pirita attends the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, the leading higher education institute in the Satakunta region, located about 240 km from Helsinki on the west coast of the country.The university there has nine campuses, more than 500 staff members, offers 25 degree programmes in Finnish and five in English, and has 6,500 students, with an annual student intake of 1,100.
Satakunta University also focuses on internationality and international co-operation, promoting co-operation between institutes of higher learning, and it was through the student exchange programme that Pirita realized her dream of travelling toIndia. “I have always wanted to come toIndia,” she said, but had fears of travelling alone. Being able to travel in a group with other students provided the ideal opportunity.
With one month left in her trimester of study, Pirita said the experience has been “interesting” and “really nice.”
She’s been able to travel extensively here, visiting such places as Mumbai, Bareilly, Nainital, Mussoorie, Goa and theAndaman Islands, and says she has learned much from the Indian people and Indian culture.There have been some problems with communication and cultural differences – and the school course system here is very different from that in Finland, she said.
But she has enjoyed her stay (her studies centered on inter-credit marketing, management and import-export) and has made friends in India, three of whom have said they would like to come and visit Finland.For students coming here in the future, her advice is to spend some time with the Indian people and get to know them.

Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida, expands global ties

Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida, recognizing the need to develop an international perspective in today’s global workplace, has now formally linked with six international universities.Finnish Academy of Higher Education; Kainan University, Taiwan; Naresuan University, Phitsanulok, Thailand; University of Illinois, Urbana -Champaign, U.S.A.; University of Indianapolis, U.S.A. and Eastern Mennonite University, U.S.A. have all linked up with Jaipuria Institute of Management, agreeing to co-operate in a mutual exchange of students, staff and research.The goal of these partnerships is to foster the advancement in teaching, research, cultural understanding, as well as the international reputation of institutions through the exchange of students, faculty and academic information, materials, conducting joint research, conferences and training.
Under these signed memorandums of understanding, the universities agree to exchange academic materials such as books, academic journals, studies and other research information generated by either party as the result of joint efforts under the agreement.They will collaborate in research in areas of mutual interest, exchange faculty members, participate in student exchanges, look at sponsoring collaborative seminars, conferences, workshops and other academic meetings on matters of mutual interest and agree all publications, research grants or other joint projects resulting from collaboration between the institutions shall recognize the efforts of both institutions.In one of the latest international link-ups, Eastern Mennonite University of Harrisonburg, Virginia, expressed great enthusiasm for the program, citing the visit of Dr. Poonam Sharma to their campus and the earlier visit of Dr. Anthony Smith to Jaipuria Institute of Management.
The university said it is looking forward to cross-cultural exchanges ranging from two weeks to an entire semester; student internships with host companies for three weeks or longer and participating in international business conferences.And they noted “Our faculty would also seriously consider the possibility for Dr. Sharma to teach a marketing course for our undergraduate business department in an adjunct faculty role for one semester.”The more exposure students and faculty get to the world beyond the borders of India, the better they will be able to cope in global market place.
“The Indian economy is growing by leaps and bounds,” says Jaipuria Institute of Management director Dr. Anup K. Singh. “It is poised to enter the league of top four economies of the world in the next two decades. It can be possible only when quality leaders are available to the business organisations. The future managers have to be conscious of the global standards of products/services, rising expectations of customers and different stakeholders’ hopes. For the Indian organisations to become world class, it is imperative that the Indian managers become world class. It is indeed a tall order but it is very much achievable.”
